Big news from the battlefield! Auterion’s CEO Lorenz Meier has revealed that the company is gearing up to deliver a whopping 33,000 of its advanced combat systems to Ukraine. This is their largest shipment to date, and they’ll be sending 10 times more than their earlier deliveries!
“We’ve been shipping thousands until now, but now we’re stepping it up to tens of thousands,” Meier shared with the press.
This massive shipment falls under a $50 million contract from the Pentagon and is part of a broader security support package from the U.S. to strengthen Ukraine’s defenses.
Just a side note: This arrangement is separate from the recent drone agreement between Ukraine and the U.S. that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced last week.
What’s included in this delivery? The package will feature Skynode mini-computers loaded with Auterion’s innovative software, alongside a camera and radio components. These elements convert regular drones into autonomous combat machines, robust against jamming attempts, and can track targets from up to a kilometer away.
Meier emphasized that the technology will empower Ukraine to “reach a new level in warfare,” allowing groups of autonomous drones to coordinate and operate collectively.
Earlier, on July 16, Zelenskyy mentioned that U.S. President Donald Trump showed interest in procuring drones manufactured in Ukraine.
Not to miss: Germany is rolling out new IRIS-T missiles for Ukraine and has already delivered over 60 Gepard tanks, according to their ambassador.
“We’re building a lot of drones right here and taking steps to protect our skies and people. A number of these drones are unique to Ukraine. I had a chat with Trump about purchasing some technology from the U.S., and he indicated interest in Ukrainian-made drones, which I feel can benefit both countries,” Zelenskyy said.
Keith Kellogg, Trump’s Special Envoy, recently toured various Ukrainian defense facilities and praised their drone innovations as “stunning advancements.”
