New Warnings about Ghislaine Maxwell’s Safety in Prison

Ghislaine Maxwell could be in serious danger in prison. That’s the alarming message from journalist Julie K. Brown of Miami Herald fame, who was instrumental in highlighting the Epstein saga back in 2018.

During a recent podcast chat, she revealed that the 63-year-old British socialite isn’t exactly safe at the Federal Correctional Institute in Tallahassee, Florida. According to her, Maxwell shared troubling info about Jeffrey Epstein with the U.S. Justice Department, which has only added to the peril she faces.

“It’s super easy to cover up a crime in prison. The cameras mysteriously malfunction, and let’s just say, many of the guards aren’t exactly trustworthy,” Brown explained.

She stressed that by working with feds, Maxwell has painted a target on her back and added, “she wouldn’t be safe anywhere at this point.” Concerns regarding her safety have been evident even before she decided to cooperate.

Defense attorney David Markus has previously voiced how heavily monitored Maxwell is following her arrest back in 2020. The scrutiny was likely a wise move considering how Epstein met his demise in summer 2019 while under federal watch.

The Justice Department has consistently claimed his death was a suicide, yet skepticism remains widespread.

Concerns for Maxwell's safety in the Florida prison has lingered long before she agreed to speak to authorities
Fears about Maxwell’s protection have risen long before she interacted with the authorities.

Interestingly, a report this November from the Justice Department’s Inspector General highlighted serious shortcomings in Tallahassee’s prison conditions. It turned out that there were issues with inmate searches and spotty security camera coverage.

In fact, the missing three minutes of a crucial surveillance video raised many eyebrows.

Last year, two inmates at that prison also died under unclear circumstances, adding to the worries. There were also claims that Maxwell had been threatened by fellow inmates. According to a leak from the Daily Mail, two other prisoners were not happy to find out she was getting extra food to maintain her vegan lifestyle.

They allegedly coerced her for part of her modest $360 monthly commissary allowance.

Despite the official declaration, skepticism looms over Epstein’s death classification.

Maxwell took action and informed the authorities about the intimidation, leading to the offenders being placed in solitary for almost 50 days. Unfortunately, this left her so paranoid that she reportedly avoided using communal showers.

In the podcast, Brown also warned that there might be attempts to pressure Maxwell into affirming that Donald Trump was uninvolved in any wrongdoing, especially if it could help her secure a lighter sentence.

Brown speculated: “They’ll likely look for a way to have her publicly declare Trump wasn’t looped in on anything.”

Currently, Maxwell is appealing her 2021 conviction for her involvement in grooming minors for Epstein’s exploitation. In a petition she recently submitted, her lawyers argue that she should be shielded from prosecution thanks to a controversial 2007 plea deal Epstein had with federal authorities in Florida that kept unnamed co-conspirators out of the court’s grasp.

As for Trump, he hinted earlier this week he might consider a pardon for Maxwell, but added, “It wouldn’t be right to delve into that now.”
