These days, it’s not unusual to spot celebrities hanging out in the wrestling world. Most of the time we see them popping up in WWE with stars like Logan Paul and Travis Scott making their appearances. However, AEW also rolled out the red carpet for some star power during their very first All In pay-per-view when they invited popular musician John Mayer to join the action.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes shared their memories of that fun night on an episode of “What Do You Wanna Talk About?”. Brandi first expressed her surprise about John Mayer being there at All In 2018. After some laughs, Cody opened up about why he thought Mayer’s interest was kind of a joke.

In Cody’s own words, “I woke up in the middle of the night to an email from John Mayer’s manager. They had a bachelor party lined up and wanted to check out the original All In, which had sold out fast. At first, I honestly thought it was just a prank!” The next morning, he was met with someone at the hotel asking, “Hey, did you really deny John Mayer tickets?”

While Cody didn’t say no to Mayer’s group, he was still surprised that Mayer actually intended to drop by the AEW event. He recalled seating Mayer and his friends in a more secluded spot amidst the hustle and bustle of the show to give them some space. During the event, Cody squared off against now-WWE SmackDown official Nick Aldis, managing to sneak a peek at Mayer during the match!

“That was seriously a fun moment!” Cody concluded, remembering that they took some photos after the festivities.

John Mayer is well-known for his soft rock and blues hits, along with his past relationships with stars like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.
