In a shocking turn of events, a student athlete at North Dakota State University has officially been removed from the football team following his alleged involvement in a major theft that occurred over the Fourth of July weekend.

William Frattalone, just 20 years old, has found himself facing a felony theft charge after allegedly pilfering a duffel bag packed with luxury goods estimated at over $270,000. The incident took place while the boat was docked at Maynard’s Restaurant on Lake Minnetonka, about 25 miles from Minneapolis, as reported by FOX 9.

The substantial bag, which alone is valued at $2,400, was found to contain a stunning Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Platinum Ice Blue Index Dial watch worth a staggering $228,000, complemented by roughly $25,000 in limited-edition apparel, a $400 bottle of cologne, and cash ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.

Details from the police report reveal that another individual on the boat, referred to as I.B., had stored the bag in a secured cabin while they enjoyed their meal inside the restaurant. However, upon their return, the precious bag was nowhere to be found.

Witnesses say an employee saw Frattalone trying to drag out a remarkably large bag through the dining area, prompting their intervention as it went against restaurant policy.

Following the alarming realization that the duffel was missing, several passengers reached out to Frattalone. Alarmingly, he allegedly nonchalantly replied that his “wealthy parents” would simply write a check to cover everything in the bag, a statement that raised further suspicions.

Consequently, investigators executed a search warrant at Frattalone’s home in Wayzata, discovering the duffel bag stashed away in his bedroom. Unfortunately, the distinct Rolex watch did not resurface during the investigation. Additionally, footage obtained from Frattalone’s personal cell phone seemingly confirms his presence on the vessel during the incident.

Frattalone was apprehended on August 1 and subsequently released from Hennepin County Jail three days later, on August 4. Unfortunately for him, he was officially dismissed from the NDSU squad shortly thereafter.

“William Frattalone has been dismissed from the NDSU football team for a violation of team rules,” stated the team’s head coach Tim Polasek to FOX 9. “He will not be on the roster for fall camp and will not be welcomed back to join the team in the future.”

Frattalone’s first court appearance is scheduled for September 11, but there has been no response from his legal representative regarding the situation.
