Jennifer Aniston seems to always be in the spotlight — whether it’s from Morning Show or her social media presence. But beneath that glamorous facade lies a pretty regular routine from Monday to Friday.
Many of us have gotten snippets of how the beloved actress spends her days through interviews and her social media. This year, she shared her philosophy on life with Allure. Embracing the 80/20 rule, she believes in living fully without many restrictions — except when it comes to hard drugs. In her words, “You’ve got to live your life. It’s the 80/20 approach.” This principle suggests that as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle with exercise and nutritious food for 80% of the time, it’s perfectly fine to enjoy yourself during the other 20%.
What does this 20% look like for Jennifer? Think martinis, pizza, burgers, and late nights spent laughing with friends.
Meditation
The 56-year-old star considers morning meditation to be a must, almost like a no-brainer. She’s even said to Harpers Bazaar Australia that journaling is another key part of her day. Aniston makes a point to fit it in whenever she can— even if it’s just for five minutes. “If I only have five minutes to do it, that’s fine. Usually, I’m just calming my thoughts. Sometimes I’ll follow a meditation on an app,” she explained.
Part of keeping her mornings peaceful is resisting the urge to check her phone within the first hour of waking. “No emails, no texts, and definitely no social media. I encourage you to try a week without it. The difference is amazing,” she advised.
Coffee
Just like us regular folks, Jennifer Aniston loves her coffee! Earlier this year, she gave Vogue a peek into her coffee-making routine, sharing that she tends to add “so much s**t” to her brew.
Her go-to mix includes Vital Proteins peptides, some Stevia (which she’s heard may be bad for her), and lactose-free milk—all with a dash of hazelnut flavor.
Since November 2020, she has been serving as Chief Creative Officer at Vital Proteins, underscoring her commitment to health.
Exercise
We’re quite familiar with her fitness habits at woman&home, especially after trying the Pvolve workout — a Pilates-style routine that she swayed towards long before she became its ambassador. But when chatting with Allure, Aniston mentioned that her workout routine isn’t exactly conventional anymore. Rather than forcing herself awake at the crack of dawn, she now schedules workouts a minimum of four times a week. “If work gets in the way, I might only hit the gym a couple of times, but as long as I’m getting it in, that’s what counts,” she noted.
She also swears by resistance training for women and labels it as “the most important thing” particularly for anyone in their 50s.
Sleep
When the day winds down, Jennifer aims for bedtime around 10pm. She admits to Allure that she first disconnects from all devices, sitting quietly as the world settles around her. “Some days are easier than others — some are great; others, not so much,” she confesses. Though she struggles with her relationship with sleep, she is actively improving her sleep hygiene.
Friends and Dogs
After joining Instagram in 2019 — which caused quite a stir as millions rushed to follow her — we’ve gained more insights into her life with friends, family, and her beloved dogs. “Me and my friends know how to have a good time; it’s been that way for 30, 35 years,” she shared with Allure. Recently, she shared snapshots from her summer vacations, filled with days wandering London parks, attending various award shows, and catching up with her longtime friend Courteney Cox.
