In a shocking turn of events, police have kicked off a manhunt after a woman sustained a broken jaw during a brutal and unprovoked attack in south London.
This troubling incident occurred in East Dulwich on August 25, when a man hurled insults at the woman before violently striking her in the face and making a hasty getaway before officers could arrive.
Emergency paramedics treated the injured woman at the scene and later transported her to the hospital for further care.
Officials are now on the hunt for the attacker, described as a balding black man between his 30s and 40s, dressed in dark clothing.
Detective Constable Charlotte Kerr emphasized the importance of finding this assailant, stating, “We are putting in a lot of effort to locate the person we believe is behind this reckless and outrageous attack.”
Kerr also highlighted a boost in neighborhood police presence intended to reassure local women and girls. She urged potential witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the incident, particularly if they noticed anything on that fateful Monday, especially around 4:45 PM near the intersection of Lordship Lane and Chesterfield Grove.
“Even if you think your tip is minor, it might just be the piece of the puzzle we need to crack this case,” she added.
