During her appearance on What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon, Nikki Bella opened up about a significant conversation she had with Seth Rollins at the WWE Evolution event back in July. They discussed his serious knee injury, where he confided in her just how much it was affecting him, and she was very supportive throughout the talk.
This conversation made the shocking outcome of SummerSlam 2025 Night One catch Bella completely off guard.
Watching the matches from a suite in MetLife Stadium, Bella felt elated for CM Punk, who was celebrating his win of the World Heavyweight Championship. However, everything changed when she heard Seth’s theme song “Burn It Down” echo through the stadium.
Illustrating her disbelief, Nikki thought Seth would simply come out to deliver a promo—after all, he had just been talking to her about needing surgery. Like many others, Nikki didn’t see it coming when Seth announced he would be cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
Post-event, both Nikki and Stephanie McMahon praised Seth, Becky Lynch, and even their little girl for maintaining the secrecy throughout. In fact, they instructed their daughter to keep the secret even in school!
While WWE Unreal may reveal more than previous generations of fans are used to, traditional storylines are still in play.
Set to tag team this Saturday at Wrestlepalooza, Rollins and Lynch will face the very man from whom Rollins snatched the World Heavyweight Championship title — CM Punk — along with AJ Lee, who is making her return to the ring.
