Brett James, celebrated for his work with Carrie Underwood on the unforgettable song “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” tragically passed away in a plane crash on Thursday in North Carolina at the age of 57.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) verified to Fox News Digital that the aircraft was registered under Brett’s legal name, Brett James Cornelius, and it appears he was the individual flying the plane.
