SEOUl, Sept. 17 — In a significant move, LG Electronics, the South Korean tech leader, has made a splash by signing a deal with U.S. builder Century Communities. This partnership focuses on outfitting newly constructed homes with smart appliances that leverage artificial intelligence (AI).
As part of their collaboration, LG will be delivering a range of energy-efficient appliances, which will include AI-integrated refrigerators, washers, dryers, and ovens, all the way through 2029.
What sets this partnership apart is LG’s commitment to customizing appliances based on the specific building styles and local climates, ensuring that homeowners get the best fit for their needs.
Moreover, LG is set to offer products that meet Energy Star standards, and they will utilize the innovative LG ThinQ AI platform in these appliances. This dual focus on sustainability and technology highlights LG’s forward-thinking approach.
This isn’t LG’s first venture into the U.S. housing sector; they previously secured a similar deal with another construction leader, Lennar Corp., last year. Such agreements play a key role in amplifying LG’s footprint in the business-to-business appliance market within the United States.
According to Jung Kyu-hwang, head of LG’s North American operations, “This will strengthen LG’s standing in the B2B home appliance landscape in the U.S.”
