Wilmington, DE — In a recent turn of events, Wilmington police have apprehended a 40-year-old man after investigating a burglary that occurred last month in the downtown area.
Thanks to a report of a break-in on August 13 at North Market Street, officers acted quickly. They responded to reports of a burglary happening overnight. The investigation was taken over by Detective Joran Merced from the Criminal Investigations Division, who zeroed in on David Holmes as a key suspect.
Holmes now faces several serious charges: third-degree burglary, theft surpassing $1,500, and second-degree conspiracy. After a court appearance at the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, he was let go on an unsecured bail set at $7,000.
It’s important to note that under the law, everyone is innocent until a verdict is reached in court.
