Theo Von, known for his comedy and hosting the podcast “This Past Weekend,” has taken issue with a recent video shared by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) during the Trump administration. The video features a fragment of his voice saying, “Heard you got deported, dude – bye” as part of a campaign to highlight the agency’s deportation tallies.

In a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, DHS rolled out a 31-second video that kicks off with Von’s remarks followed by claims that 2 million undocumented immigrants were deported within Donald Trump’s first 150 days of his second term. The clip includes Trump stating, “They simply stopped coming. They’re not coming anymore,” wrapping up with a message on screen urging viewers to “LEAVE NOW” as a plane takes off.

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Von tweeted on Wednesday evening, “Yooo DHS, I didn’t approve to be used in this. I know you know my address so send a check. And please take this down and keep me out of your ‘banger’ deportation videos.” He added, “When it comes to immigration, my thoughts and heart are a lot more nuanced than this video allows. Bye!”

As of now, there hasn’t been any public comment from representatives of the DHS.

On his podcast, Von often engages with a range of political perspectives, hosting personalities such as Donald Trump, Mark Cuban, Bernie Sanders, and more alongside fellow comedians like Shane Gillis and Pete Davidson. He has also released two stand-up specials available on Netflix: “Regular People” (2021) and “No Offense” (2016).

Additionally, Von is teaming up with David Spade to produce and star in a buddy comedy titled “Busboys,” which they co-wrote and are financing themselves. The plot revolves around two friends pondering whether their issues could be resolved by becoming waiters in an Arizona border town, entirely missing the mark on solving their problems.

Theo Von attended “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on February 14, 2025.
