Danica Patrick is clearly not excited about Bad Bunny taking the stage at Super Bowl LX.
Last Sunday, the NFL dropped the news that the Puerto Rican superstar will be headlining the halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 8, 2026.
Patrick, who’s known for her racing career and now works as a commentator, shared her thoughts on X/Twitter on Monday, voicing her disappointment about the artist they’ve picked.
In her tweet, she expressed: “Oh fun. No songs in English should not be allowed at one of America’s highest-rated television events of the year… not just for sports,” Patrick stated.
The former driver, who’s candid about her conservative beliefs, also shared another tweet that accused Bad Bunny of being “a demonic Marxist” who’s been given a major platform during a significant moment for American Christians.
Bad Bunny isn’t shy when it comes to political issues; he’s openly criticized former President Donald Trump and even canceled concerts in the U.S. before, worried that they might be used to target immigrants by ICE.
Bad Bunny’s Big Moment
It’s a big deal for Bad Bunny, a three-time Grammy winner, to be chosen as the Super Bowl halftime performer.
Real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, he’s following in the footsteps of other major artists who have performed at the Super Bowl like Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and The Weeknd.
In his statement, Bad Bunny reflected, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown. This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el Halftime Show Del Super Bowl.” Check it out for more.
On the NFL’s side, Jon Barker, who’s the senior VP of global event production, commented on Bad Bunny’s selection saying that he encapsulates the “global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today’s music scene.”
