Mark your calendars for August 8, 2025—this is when the first season will premiere on Starz. While there’s no release date yet for the second season, Entertainment Weekly reports that filming for it kicked off on June 23 in Scotland.
Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts expressed his excitement for the show, saying, “The talent and passion our cast and crew have shown for Outlander: Blood of My Blood is phenomenal. We’re thrilled to continue these epic tales in season 2. Just as fans fell for Jamie and Claire, we hope they will be captivated by these new couples this summer.”
What Is Blood of My Blood About?
For fans who loved the romance of Claire and Jamie in Outlander, this prequel is perfect! It focuses on the love stories of Claire’s parents—Julia Moriston (portrayed by Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine)—as well as Jamie’s folks—Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). Claire’s parents meet during World War I, while Jamie’s ancestors connect much earlier in history. There’s plenty more about this show that has people buzzing!
