Carmen Andrade Ties the Knot with Her Longtime Boyfriend: Check Out the Details

Carmen Andrade, who is famously known as a conjoined twin, just got married to her boyfriend, Daniel McCormack!

The couple, who met through the dating app Hinge back in 2020, revealed their exciting news at the end of a YouTube video titled “Overdue Update!”

With a big smile, the 25-year-old Carmen decided to share the happy announcement, showing off her beautiful wedding ring and saying, “I did get married.”

However, in a cheeky follow-up, her conjoined twin sister Lupita chimed in, stating,“I did not,” just to clear any possible confusion.

Daniel, now sporting a new title, proudly introduced himself as “The husband.”

“I got an upgrade,” he said, beaming with happiness.

In the video, filmed on May 21, the newlyweds shared that they exchanged vows “seven months ago” in front of close family members. NOTE: TODAY.com reached out for further details, but there’s been no response yet.

Carmen chose a stunning floor-length emerald green gown for the autumn wedding, while Daniel looked sharp in a dark suit complemented with a matching green bowtie.

She lightheartedly mentioned, “I did not wear white. Don’t regret it. I don’t like white.”

To ensure everyone was on the same page, Carmen made an important clarification before the news made waves.

“Before anybody gets it twisted: We got married,” Carmen said, pointing to both herself and Daniel. She quickly added, gesturing to herself and her sister Lupita, “but we did not get married.”

Lupita then quipped, “I don’t want to get married.”

It’s interesting to note that during a 2023 interview with TODAY.com, Lupita shared her feelings about relationships, stating she is asexual and doesn’t experience sexual attraction. However, she wants her sister Carmen to find happiness. “I know that’s important to her,” Lupita expressed.

Looking back, Carmen described feeling a unique bond with Daniel right from their first message. Unlike many other guys who messaged her, Daniel didn’t lead with questions about her condition, and that made a huge difference. “With a lot of guys, it feels like there’s a strong focus on my being a conjoined twin,” she reflected. “I have social anxiety, so this was a nice change.”

Carmen and Lupita are fused at the torso, sharing a single pelvis and reproductive system, which makes their lives unique. They both have two arms but just one leg to share.

Even though both Carmen and Daniel love kids, they’ve made it clear they prefer being dog parents instead of having children. Carmen explained, “Lupita and I can’t get pregnant due to endometriosis, and we’re also on hormone blockers that prevent us from menstruating.”

The Andrade sisters are passionate about sharing their lives and experiences with the world via their YouTube channel and other social media. They aim to create awareness about conjoined twins and tackle the stereotypes they face.

Carmen highlighted the importance of establishing boundaries in their lives, stating, “We often face nasty comments since people aren’t accustomed to people with disabilities defining boundaries. We get a lot of personal questions about essentials, but remember: we’re not just conjoined twins; we are people.”

Conjoined twins are rare, as mentioned by the Mayo Clinic, and marriages like Carmen and Daniel’s are not widely discussed.

Interestingly, in 2021, TODAY.com was among the first to report on conjoined twin Abby Hensel’s marriage to Josh Bowling, a nurse and veteran. Abby and her sister Brittany gained fame through the TLC reality show “Abby and Brittany.”
