Known for their masterful parody of horror films, the Scary Movie franchise kicked off in 2000 and has delighted audiences with numerous sequels since then. Paramount is set to oversee global distribution through its first-look deal with Miramax, the company that originally distributed the first trilogy.
The inaugural Scary Movie, featuring Faris as Cindy and Hall as Brenda, debuted in July 2000 and brought in an impressive $42 million at the box office on its opening weekend, setting records as the largest opening for an R-rated horror film and for a film directed by a Black director. Marlon and Shawn Wayans starred in the early films, with Keenen Ivory Wayans providing the scripts and direction.
Damon Wayans Jr. is represented by UTA, Ziffren Brittenham, and Johnson Shapiro, while Kim Wayans is with KFM Management. Gardner is represented by CAA, OPE Partners, and Hansen Jacobson. Oteri works with Brave Artists Management and Goodman Genow, and Elliott is represented by UTA and Vault Entertainment.
