Gracie Hunt, who is the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, voiced her support for Erika Kirk and Turning Point USA’s efforts to create an alternate halftime show for this year’s Super Bowl, aimed at providing a different experience than what Bad Bunny will offer.
This Grammy-winning artist had been chosen as the Super Bowl LX halftime performer earlier, which didn’t sit well with certain fans due to his previous comments about U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE).
While chatting on Fox News Channel’s “The Will Cain Show”, Hunt expressed admiration for Kirk and underlined how essential it is for young Americans, regardless of gender, to have positive role models.
“I genuinely respect everything Erika is doing to set up a halftime show that resonates with American values. Kids are so impressionable; they need role models to look up to — and that goes for both boys and girls,” Hunt remarked.
Though she doesn’t have kids yet, Gracie acknowledged the challenges of parenthood and commended Turning Point USA for stepping up to offer an alternative. “Football has become a global sport, but let’s not forget it originated as America’s game that centers on family.”:
“My grandfather envisioned the Super Bowl as a family-oriented event meant for all ages, believing the game itself was the primary draw. It shouldn’t sacrifice its integrity just to attract viewers, particularly when such tactics can alienate dedicated fans,” she noted.
“I believe the selection for halftime acts going forward should align closely with America’s values such as honoring women and the military communities. So, I have a lot of respect for Erika,” she added.
In her vision for future halftime shows, Hunt mentioned she’d be thrilled to see either Jason Aldean or Taylor Swift take the spotlight.
The NFL has been defending its choice of Bad Bunny as this year’s performer for the Super Bowl scheduled at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
On another note, Hunt expressed her enthusiasm about a perceived resurgence of religious values among women in the U.S.
“Our generation gets a bad rap, but I’ve noticed an uplifting movement among younger people today. Many are pursuing a deeper purpose in their lives. Bible sales have seen a boost, especially as we approach the global Bible month in November,” she said.
“I’ve observed many young men and women being baptized on college campuses, passionately sharing their faith, and striving to make the world more positive,” she added.
