RICHMOND, VA (WAVY) — Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin has made the significant move to lift the State of Emergency by repealing Executive Order No. 54.

In his statement, Governor Youngkin expressed, “Today marks the closing of an extraordinary period of emergency response in Virginia. We promised to protect those who are most vulnerable and ensure that hungry Virginians were not exploited in this process, and we stood by that commitment.”

He went on to mention that, “Virginia’s strong job growth and record investments in business have led to impressive budget surpluses. This has allowed us to replace SNAP benefits with a parallel system, ensuring there were no major disruptions to these crucial services.”
