On Sunday, while Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was on the field for his first NFL game, thieves made off with around $200,000 worth of belongings from his home.
This theft follows a troubling trend of criminals targeting wealthy athletes’ homes during games, knowing they won’t be around.
Three masked intruders broke into Sanders’ place, grabbing valuables as he was busy facing off against the Baltimore Ravens.
Responding to questions about the upsetting incident, Sanders stated, “Mentally and emotionally, I’m in a great place. In life, you face challenges and not everything goes as planned, but I’m ready for whatever comes my way.”
Just recently, on October 30, NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander experienced a similar scare when his home was robbed while he played against the Washington Wizards.
Although Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t provide specifics about the stolen items, he emphasized that “everyone’s safe, and that’s what really counts.” Focus on safety over possessions.
Other prominent athletes who have dealt with break-ins recently include NBA star Luka Doncic, alongside NFL players like Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Travis Kelce.
