After being a staple on the Today show for over 12 years, Savannah Guthrie has seen her fair share of live blunders. Recently, during the episode of Today with Jenna and Friends on October 23, she faced a hilarious wardrobe mishap that showcased her cool attitude under pressure.

Wearing a sharp black blazer, tight faux-leather pants, and towering platform heels, Savannah discovered she had a rather unfortunate “big hole” in her pants—yikes!

Jenna Bush Hager, her co-host, quipped, “You look amazing, hot mama!” To which Guthrie humorously replied, “Thanks… but I have a huge hole in my Spanx. Yes, a hole in my pleather Spanx!”

Instead of rushing backstage to change, Savannah stayed calm, chuckling with Jenna as they both moved to their seats. “Today shall be known as ‘Hole in my Spanx’ day,” remarked her co-host, cleverly turning the mishap into a funny metaphor.

Things happen; that’s just how live shows go. The show must carry on, after all!

Interestingly, Savannah didn’t seem all that bothered by the tear. In fact, she announced on the Today SiriusXM Instagram that she intended to rock those pleather pants again at an upcoming Jon Bon Jovi concert. “Absolutely, it’s pleather weather!” she exclaimed with enthusiasm.

This is not the first time Savannah has handled an awkward moment like a champ. Back in 2020, she gracefully addressed an online critic who called her hair “unkempt” during the pandemic, saying, “We’re all doing our own hair and makeup right now… and of course, it’s showing!”
