Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t one to keep her thoughts to herself. Recently, she took a striking swing at Donald Trump, juxtaposing him with the beloved Princess Diana.
Having spent decades in the limelight, Curtis is no stranger to controversy. Following the passing of Charlie Kirk, the actress stirred up some backlash after expressing empathy for him, a figure with starkly opposing views.
While many praised Curtis for her compassion, others blasted her for seemingly softening Kirk’s divisive stances—particularly on transgender individuals, an issue very personal to Curtis as a mother of a transgender daughter. Clarifying her position, she later mentioned that her comments had been misinterpreted.
Not one to dodge political discussions, the A Fish Called Wanda star went on to vocally denounce Trump while making an interesting connection to the late Diana.
During an appearance on This Morning, Curtis shared a memory of writing to Diana after missing a chance to meet her and her kids, Prince William and Harry, who were visiting the set of A Fish Called Wanda back in 1988.
Curtis Labels Trump “Vile” in Emotional Critique
After sending her letter, Curtis was delighted to receive a response from “the People’s Princess.” She mentioned, “I told her I admired her for the incredible work she did to reduce stigma around crucial issues,” noting that just two days later she received a reply.
Moved visibly, Curtis lamented the lost chance to converse with Diana face-to-face and emphasized how the late Princess exemplified true leadership, contrasting her grace with Trump’s behavior.
“Look around at the leaders in my country and the hatred they spew,” Curtis critiqued. She pointed out Trump’s recent derogatory comment towards a female reporter, calling him out for his “unacceptable behavior.”
“I believe that this kind of unhinged outburst and vile attitude will be Trump’s downfall,” Curtis concluded.
