A man known for distributing large amounts of cocaine to gangs has received a hefty 20-year prison sentence.
Joshua Bromwell, hailing from Harrietsham in Kent, shuttled multi-kilogram shipments of cocaine to various locations in south London using an encrypted chat app. Operating under the name “acecarlito,” he arranged the delivery of 3 kilograms between March and June 2020, according to details released by the National Crime Agency (NCA).
The operation he ran had connections with the London Fields gang, notorious for engaging in violent crime, including the use of firearms and edged weapons.
At 34 years old, he was found guilty after an extensive investigation by the NCA and Metropolitan Police. More recently, in June 2023, Bromwell was caught supplying cocaine through WhatsApp. This came to light when U.S. border security stopped him as he arrived at Atlanta Airport, leading to a thorough examination of his phone.
The attached messages revealed his involvement in organizing significant drug deals—about 52 kilograms over a mere 15 days.
Police arrested Bromwell at his home in September 2023, where they uncovered evidence of his extravagant lifestyle—complete with luxury Rolex watches and expensive electronics. This lifestyle was sharply at odds with his tax records, which claimed he made only £18,000 annually between 2020 and 2024.
After a lengthy trial, a jury found him guilty at Croydon Crown Court on January 24 of two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Andrew Tickner, an operations manager at the NCA, commented, ‘This investigation revealed that Bromwell lived a lavish life funded by serious drug trafficking, pretending to be a music producer.’
‘We will continue our efforts to ensure that offenders like Bromwell face justice.’
