Nick Reiner Arrested for His Parents’ Murder

In a shocking turn of events, the son of renowned actor and director Rob Reiner has been arrested on murder charges. Thirty-two-year-old Nick Reiner was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police shortly after his parents, Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, were found deceased in their Brentwood home.

Important Details

Authorities revealed that Nick was arrested late Sunday night and is currently being held on a hefty bail of $4 million, as per online records from the Los Angeles County jail.

At a press conference on Monday morning, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed that Nick is officially a suspect in the ongoing investigation into the deaths of his parents, who have been positively identified as Rob and Michele Singer Reiner.

According to ABC News, it has been reported that both were victims of stabbing, though their sources have opted to remain anonymous, along with similar findings shared by NBC News.

No indications of forced entry were discovered within the Reiners’ house, as reported by Los Angeles Times, which also noted that one of their three children found the bodies.

The incident was reported just after 3:40 p.m. local time Sunday when police and the fire department responded to emergency calls at the couple’s residence. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

The police were also in the process of securing a search warrant to further investigate the scene.

Who’s Nick Reiner?

Nick is one of Rob and Michele’s three children; he has siblings Jake, 34, and Romy, 28. Rob Reiner has another daughter, actress Tracy Reiner, whom he adopted with his late ex-wife, Penny Marshall. Nick has faced challenges with addiction and homelessness in the past and served as the basis for his father’s 2015 film, Being Charlie, for which he was credited as a co-writer. The movie’s plot, focusing on an addict’s struggles, was close to home for the Reiner family. Rob Reiner later shared his regrets about not addressing Nick’s struggles sooner.
