Taylor Swift may be an international music sensation, but at home, she just wants to unwind like anyone else.

During her recent interview with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the pop star discussed her favorite strategies for keeping her home a haven of tranquility.

First on her list? Keeping her music life separate from her home life.

“I don’t want any music trophies or stuff around the house,” Swift shared. “Sure, I have my piano and a guitar, but that guitar isn’t displayed for everyone to see!”

For Taylor, her time in the studio is special, just as important as her downtime.

“When I’m home, it’s all about cozy vibes. Studio days feel like a big deal, like special treats for me,” she explained during the interview.

Another key aspect for her sense of relaxation? Trusting her close friends and family who come to visit.

“My inner circle is so solid—I can speak freely, and it never leaks to the tabloids. It’s such a relief,” she shared.

While touring, Taylor recreates her favorite cozy atmosphere in every hotel she stays in to recover from her lively performances.

She told Colbert that after her shows, she indulges in a soothing bath, getting as much room service as possible, while also taking some time to sign CDs.

“I jump right out of my costume and into a hot bath—it’s my mermaid time. After that, I pile on room service,” she detailed her after-show routine.

While in her hotel haven, she likes to play shows like Dateline in the background, and she’s also a big fan of audiobooks.

To bring extra coziness to these travels, Taylor makes sure her beloved cats accompany her worldwide.

“Meet my baby, Benjamin Button! He’s super attached to my pillow wherever in the world I am,” she said, pointing out a picture Colbert had on screen. “They’re my travel buddies everywhere.”

Wherever Taylor rests her head, she knows she’ll have furry company to keep her feeling at home.
