Israeli police have reported that security forces have arrested the two brothers of Ahmad Abu al-Rub, the individual involved in a brutal terror attack that claimed two lives in northern Israel yesterday.
During the incident, Abu al-Rub seriously injured several pedestrians by running them over with his employer’s vehicle, which led to the death of an elderly man and a young woman who was stabbed at a bus stop close to Beit She’an.
Ahmad Abu al-Rub is a resident of Qabatiya, a city in the northern West Bank near Jenin. He had been living and working illegally in Israel for some time. Police have revealed that he stayed with his younger brothers, aged 30 and 33, inside the Green Line.
The brothers were captured by the Yamam counter-terrorism unit and Shin Bet forces while hiding on agricultural land near the Arab town of Arraba. They will face a remand hearing at the Nazareth Magistrate’s Court later this evening.
Shortly after the attack, authorities also arrested the Israeli employer of Abu al-Rub, who was using the pickup truck during the assault.
Furthermore, the Nazareth Magistrate’s Court has placed a gag order on the investigation details, which will remain in effect until January 26, 2026.
