The police have successfully apprehended a 22-year-old in relation to the brutal stabbing that led to the death of a teenager after a prolonged two-week manhunt.
Adam Henry, just 15, tragically lost his life due to stabbing injuries he sustained on December 9 in Islington, located in east London.
In response to a public plea for information, law enforcement officials arrested Abdel Dedour on murder charges at a residence in north-west London last Friday. Additionally, four other individuals were taken into custody at the same location, suspected of assisting in the crime.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo from the Metropolitan Police expressed relief at the capture, noting that Dedour had made various attempts to avoid being caught. He stated, “We are now one significant step closer to achieving justice for Adam.”
This detective, who is overseeing the investigation, also mentioned, “Our hearts go out to Adam’s family and friends during this incredibly hard time. There should be no tolerance for such mindless violence in our communities, and we will ensure those behind these actions are held accountable.”
The arrests on Friday involved three men aged 18, 23, and 39, alongside a 47-year-old woman who were detained on which raised suspicions of aiding the suspect. This woman faced additional charges after an incident involving an assault on a police officer, while the 39-year-old man had prior charges concerning domestic violence and traffic violations.
Currently, all five individuals remain in police custody. Meanwhile, Tsidi Winion, 20, from Handyside Street in Camden, was previously charged on December 15 with murder and possessing a dangerous weapon.
