Authorities are currently on the lookout for a suspect who was allegedly involved in an arson incident where a brick was thrown through a window, petrol was poured inside, and then the place was set ablaze while someone was inside.

This unsettling event took place on Friday night around 22:20 BST at a residence located on Roxburgh Street in Everton.

According to the Merseyside Police, the suspect was spotted dismounting a scrambler bike before committing the act, after which he fled the scene alongside another individual, heading towards Hale Road.

Thanks to the quick response of the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, the occupant was safely evacuated, and the fire was extinguished without any reported injuries.

Ch Insp Ben Wayment commented, “This is an utterly reckless move, particularly in light of the recent tragic events where two individuals lost their lives due to such thoughtless actions.” He emphasized, “Arson threatens the safety and well-being of our entire community.”

If anyone has any relevant information about the incident, please reach out to the police.
