A 41-year-old man has recently been brought before a court following a serious disturbance on an EasyJet flight that attracted the attention of counter-terrorism police.
Abhay Nayak, hailing from Luton, was detained at Glasgow Airport on Sunday morning following the arrival of his flight around 8:20 AM.
After being apprehended, Nayak was formally charged and presented at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, facing serious accusations of assault and putting aircraft safety at risk.
In the court, he opted not to enter a plea and will have another court appearance in a week as he remains in custody.
Initially, counter-terrorism officers reviewed footage of the incident, but it has been confirmed that Nayak will not face terrorism-related charges.
A representative from Police Scotland commented on the situation, stating, “We believe the incident to be contained and that nobody else was involved.”
