Icona Pop recently said "I'm done with the club, just take me to the spa", and the sentiment rings so true. I was 60% hungover when stepping foot into the utopic bar-spa hybrid that is SOAK on the RaRa end of Chapel Street last Saturday morning.

The perfect wet weather time table was arranged: a brow wax, tint, a heaven-sent facial, a blowout (of the hair kind) and a lash tint. This was a tailored edit of their big bonanza $400 'All About Soak' package.

Couple makes $150k in 48 HOURS with their game changing gadget

Couple makes $150k in 48 HOURS with their game changing gadget An Australian couple who quit their full-time jobs as lawyers to pursue a beauty brand have made more than $150,000 in 48 hours following an astronomical year of sales throughout 2020. Founders Mia and Ermin Plakalo launched Peppy Co at the start of last year, offering a LED light therapy mask designed to reduce the appearance of acne and leave skin glowing. The unique beauty gadget, priced at $179, harnesses three therapeutic lights for a cleaner complexion after 10 minutes of use per day.

There's a whole smorgasbord of beauty services on offer here, so you can go all-out with a full-body sprucing, or just drop in for an express pedi. But the real, unrivalled drawcard of the SOAK model is that while you are doing all the beauty things you could do anywhere else in Melbourne, you can do them here while quaffing an expertly-crafted Pomegranate Sour.

SOAK is a part-bar, part-salon paradiso that transcends the feeling of 'appointment' and enters the realm of life-changing experience. This is no dramatisation. The SOAK team is divided into zones based on different specialties, each area helmed by mixologists, hair stylists, nail technicians and so forth. You're quite literally in the best hands possible at every step around the wonderland.

Makeup artist shares her secrets to flawless skin and incredible eyes

Makeup artist shares her secrets to flawless skin and incredible eyes Australian makeup artist Nicole Tait has revealed her tips to healthy, glowing skin and how to create the perfect, long-lasting look for any occasion. Nicole Tait from Brisbane is fast becoming one of the country's most popular beauty Instagram influencers, thanks to her uniquely bold yet wearable style. She is set to host a special event at The Star Gold Coast on April 10 where she will share her beauty tips. Speaking with Daily Mail Australia, the talented artist revealed a few of her favourite tips, including how she achieves her incredible all-day colour.

Upon entry, there's a waiting area plotted with plush couches to sit and chill, private rooms for those intricate treatments (insert brows, lashes, facials et al here) and a central bar commanding all eyes. Unlike your regular spa sitch, the soundtrack is more high-tempo and bop-certified than rainforest reminiscent. It is, put simply, a vibe.

Warm lights give out a warm, lusty glow, while pink, gold and marble accents pamper up the space. Every touchpoint exudes indulgence. Patrons can sit bar-side on stools to have one hand held by a manicurist and the other cradling spressy marts at midday. That has to be haven located, so call off the search.

My brows received the greatest tint of their lives, while my hair wash and blow-wave was elevated tenfold by the salon professional Jess who indulged my post-Friday anecdotes. She insisted I must spoil myself and continue to sip on the cocky tees, because life is too short.

The SOAK ethos revolves around that notion of sheer indulgence. It's finding time for you (or for a friend's birthday, a hen's getting ready, a Mother's Day date) and preening both body and mind. That's something we should all rejoice in more often.
