In keeping with tradition, it was Lady Whistledown who announced the sad news. "Dear Readers, while all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton's quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings," Netflix posted on Twitter.

It's important to note that the streaming service announcement bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, and not the Duke—so who knows what the creators have up their sleeves.
