So long Bridgerton, there's a new Regency-era must-watch that we can obsess over—that is, until season two rolls around.
Enter: The Nevers.
As we joyously absorb the extravagant period costumes and regal dialogue—and pine over any kind of Regé-Jean Page replacement—the series also welcomes two vastly different qualities that separates it from its counterparts: science-fiction and a heavy injection of feminism.
Celebs rocking flat caps
The flat cap goes by many names depending on where you are in the world. It's a round cap with a small, stiff brim in the front, originating in the Anglo-Celtic Isles. They've been around since the 14th century, and have been coming in and out of style ever since. Traditionally, they're made of cotton, wool, or tweed. These days, however, they're made of all kinds of materials, especially the ones celebrities wear. Realistically, these stars are so beautiful that they would look good in anything, so the fact that they're rocking flat caps better than anyone's grandpa comes as no surprise. A six-episode series, The Nevers follows a group of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and "a mission that might change the world." Need we say more?
Following the last years of Queen Victoria's reign, London is plagued by those who have been "touched", that is, people—mostly women—who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities, some of which are useful, while others are very sinister.
But before you hit 'play', as per all period dramas, the series is filled to the brim with gasp-worthy supernatural effects, and of course, an impressive cast with some faces you're sure to recall and others that'll be hard to forget.

Ovarian Cancer Is Often Found Too Late, so What Are the Symptoms To Look Out For?
Ovarian cancer is known as the most lethal gynaecological cancer there is. One woman in Australia dies from this disease every eight hours, and according to data from the American Cancer Society, 60% of women are not diagnosed with ovarian cancer until the disease has spread to other tissue. The data is bleak, but the powerful news to take here is that if detected early enough, the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) states that over 90% of patients can be cured. So, how do we improve the rates of early detection? Currently, there is no early detection test for ovarian cancer.
