A fashion stylist has shared exactly what you should pack for a summer holiday, and the 'rule of three' she follows to ensure she returns with nothing unworn.
Award-winning stylist Melissa Murgana, from Melbourne, revealed you need to think about whether you will be able to wear something in three different ways in order to be able to pack it.
For this reason, she always opts for versatile pieces like a shirt and short set that can be dressed up or down with high-heeled sandals or trainers when you need them to.

'Here are some inspiration items to consider when packing for your summer vacay whether it's a beach or resort getaway.'
She said: 'It's all about packing enough variety you can mix and match with, which comes back to each piece being able to be worn three ways (yes, this even applies for a holiday).'

For her own trips, Melissa typically takes a two-piece shirt and short set.
The shorts can be worn either with the shirt or with a basic white or black T-shirt, a ribbed tank top or a smooth tank top for four different 'easy' looks.
She also brings a pair of denim shorts and another colour shorts.

The stylist also brings a light layer, whether it's a light summer jacket or a denim shirt or jacket.

Finally, Melissa always brings 'dresses in multiple lengths', with at least one block solid colour option and one printed option.
She also brings swimwear and beach cover-ups. Again, the same rule applies and you need at least one block colour piece of swimwear and one printed option.
'I like to bring something I can be active in, but also add my existing tops,' Melissa said.
'Last but not least, I take two pairs of sunglasses: one pair of classic black and one fun print.'
She added: 'Safe travels!'

Thousands who saw Melissa's capsule holiday wardrobe praised the stylist for sharing such an easy-to-follow list.
'Lovely and simple. Perfect vacation style,' one person posted.
