Despite neighbours hearing what they believed were gunshots on Friday night, the triple-zero call reporting a woman being found shot in a Brisbane home was not made until several hours later.

Detectives have appealed for anyone on Wembley Road in Karawatha on Saturday morning to come forward in the hope they can use elimination to identify vehicles of interest.

The triple-zero call was made about 3.15am on Saturday by a 37-year-old male resident at the semi-rural property on Brisbane's outskirts.

Detective Inspector Craig Morrow said the man was questioned at the weekend and later released without charge.

The property was still a crime scene on Monday as forensic officers continued to search the large property for evidence.

"We have gathered and viewed a significant amount of CCTV from the Wembley Road area. So what we are seeking today is community assistance," Inspector Morrow said.

"What we want to know is that if you were the driver or passenger in a vehicle on Wembley Road on the morning of February 9, between the hours of 2.45am and 3.20am, that you please contact police and provide us with your details.

"At the present time, we have a number of vehicles that have travelled on that road and what we are trying to achieve is the elimination process."

Detectives were speaking to the victim's family, friends and anyone who was in the area at the time, but did not have any form suspects.

The male resident was known to police and has been assisting police "from the word go", according to Inspector Morrow.

Detectives were yet to determine a motive or time of death and investigations are continuing.

The twin-engine F/A-18 Super Hornet supersonic combat jet, code-named Carbine 21, issued a mayday call to air traffic control at Brisbane Airport to say it did not have the necessary fuel to complete a 60km trip to RAAF Base Amberley. Air traffic control quickly advised commercial pilots there would be a delay due to the fighter jet making an emergency landing. International flights were diverted and passenger planes were put into a holding pattern to give the jet priority to land.
