Multiple reports have been made to police since mid-February, totalling at least $6,000 stolen.

Police believed there might have been still more victims.

The so-called "Italian fashion designer" would ask for directions to the airport with a "sob story" about how he needed to fly home to Italy but his credit card was not working, police said.
