Two people have died in a crash involving a truck and two utes on the Peak Downs Highway in Central Queensland.

Police said preliminary information indicated the truck and one of the utilities collided head-on about 4pm on Friday near Logan Creek at Winchester, about 220 kilometres south-west of Mackay.

The driver of the truck, a 47-year-old Emerald man, and the driver of one of the utes, who was a 48-year-old Moranbah woman, died at the scene.

The female driver of the second ute sustained minor injuries.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit were continuing with officers appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or had dash cam vision to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
