Guilty pleas are anticipated for a police staff member who is alleged to have received thousands of dollars for the release of information obtained from police computers.

Rebekah Rose Tilbury, 32, of Middle Swan, appeared at Midland Magisates Court on Tuesday.

She is facing more than a dozen charges including six counts of unlawful use of a computer and a further six counts of unauthorised disclosure of information.

She is also facing one charge of acting corruptly and two drug-related charges.

Last week police announced Ms Tilbury had been charged with corruption after an Internal Affairs police probe.

It’s alleged between August 2017 and January 2019, while working at the Police Assistance Centre, the 32-year-old received in excess of $16,000 following the release of information obtained from police computer systems.

Ms Tilbury is currently suspended from duty.

During Tuesday’s court hearing, defence lawyer Richard Lawson asked for the case to be adjourned for several weeks as the investigating officer was on leave and negotiations were continuing with police.

“We anticipate pleas of guilty to all charges,” Mr Lawson told the court, and again confirmed this outside court.

The case was put off until May 7 and Ms Tilbury was released on bail.

She declined to comment as she left court.
