Fatal stabbing in Randwick a domestic violence incident, police say © Provided by ABC News A crime scene was established near the Prince of Wales Hospital. A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Randwick in what police are describing as a "domestic-related incident".

Emergency services were called to Barker Street around 8:45pm on Saturday night, after reports a woman had been stabbed.

Police found a 47-year-old woman unresponsive nearby, however she died at the scene.

Crime scenes were established in Barker and East streets, near Prince of Wales Hospital, but public access to the hospital is still available.

Last night Barker Street was closed off between Botany and Kennedy streets as police searched for a station wagon.

Detectives were seen canvassing the area including the hospital.

A 60-year-old Panania man was arrested and taken to Maroubra police station, where he was later charged with murder.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court later on Sunday.

A man, aged in his 50s, was treated for chest injuries but was unable to be saved. Police arrested two men, who are assisting with inquiries. Members of the victim's family were seen being consoled on the street after the death. "There was a lady in hysterics crying on the street, she fainted when I got closer," a witness told 9News. "I did see the gentleman on the ground, he was covered in blood.
