Two people in a black BMW SUV fled the crash on foot after smashing into a moped and a sedan in Brisbane's inner-northern suburb of Windsor just before midnight.

The BMW was headed north on Lutwyche Road when it collided with the moped, ridden by a 32-year-old East Brisbane man, who was killed.

Police said no other cars were involved in the 9.30am crash.

The male rider, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The forensic crash unit was investigating the circumstances surrounding both crashes.
