A 36-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman from Queensland were arrested and charged after being caught by police in Orroroo on Saturday.Police said just before 5:00pm on Saturday, a patrol car attempted to stop a dark blue sedan on Spear Creek Road in Stirling North when the driver allegedly refused to stop.

A teenager is on the run after allegedly throwing a knife at an employee of a cigarette store in Sydney's west overnight.

A male, aged between 16 and 18, entered a tobacconist in Greenway Plaza in Parramatta about 7.45pm.

He approached the counter and spoke with a female employee aged in her early 30s.

The pair became engaged in a verbal argument before the man allegedly threw a kitchen knife at the employee, which hit her in the face and narrowly missed her eye.

He ran from the store in the company of a second man who was waiting outside.

Emergency services were called and the woman was treated for a puncture wound to her head.

She was taken to Westmead Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established at the store while detectives from Parramatta Police Area Command conduct a full investigation.
