A devastating house fire has left four housemates without a home and 'nothing but the clothes on their back'.
Their Avalon home, in Sydney's northern beaches, was in flames on Saturday afternoon and left completely gutted.
Elise Coulter, her partner, little sister and best friend had rented the home for a year-and-a-half before it burned down.
They had been out of the house while their real estate agent showed it to potential buyers.

'The real estate agent called us and said "your house is on fire. I'm literally watching it burn down" and I think she grabbed our dog and ran downstairs,' Ms Coulter told Daily Mail Australia.

'We didn't realise it was going to be the whole house but everything we owned was burned to a crisp,' she said, including thousands in furniture.

One of the women who lived in the share house, Ella Dixon, took to Facebook on Monday to thank the firefighters and the community.
'I just want to say thank you to everyone. The love support and excessive amount of tooth brushes and spare undies are very much appreciated,' she said.
