Third Sydney shooting in 24 hours linked to man found in park
A woman and a baby have escaped injury after shots were fired at a southwest Sydney home, the third shooting in 24 hours. Police found bullet casings on the driveway after being called to the Mount Pritchard home about 10.15pm yesterday and a man who was not home at the time of the shooting is helping police with their investigation. Shots were also fired at two homes, in Ryde and Regents Park, in the early hours of Wednesday. Meanwhile the shooting of a man found injured in a Sydney park is being linked to the attacks.
Police swarmed the car park of a hospital in Melbourne’s outer-east this afternoon after a man presented himself with a stab wound to the abdomen.
The 19-year-old man attended the Knox private hospital around 3.30pm today after inflicting the wound, however authorities are still unsure of how he received the injury.
Police are now piecing together the circumstances that led up to the teenager’s attack.
He was supported by three friends at the time of his arrival to the hospital in a white ute. All three have since all been spoken to by detectives.
Man shot in the shoulder presents himself to hospital
Police are investigating a possible shooting after a man presented himself at Campbelltown Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The 39-year-old man from Wedderburn arrived at the hospital on Therry Road, Campbelltown, in Sydney's greater west, at approximately 9pm last night. He remains in a stable condition and his injury is not considered life-threatening. Circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown and further details of the man have not been released. However, police are appealing for any one with information that may be able to assist their inquiries, to come forward.
One of those three people has also since been arrested by police in relation to other minor offence.
Authorities tonight remain in the carpark of the Knox private hospital, searching the ute in the hope it could uncover some clues about the incident.
The 19-year-old has since been transported to the Alfred Hospital to receive further treatment and tonight remains in a non-life-threatening condition.
