Truck fire shuts down Hume Motorway in Sydney A truck fire on one of the country's busiest roads has traffic backed up for 7km. The crash on the Hume Motorway in southwest Sydney has caused massive delays, closing two of the four northbound lanes in the Campbelltown area. The driver managed to separate the back of the truck from the cab and escaped without injury after the blaze started about 4am. Police are urging drivers to avoid the area if they can. The crash comes as NSW Assistant Police Commissioner Michael Corboy issued a warning to drive safely in the heavy rain afflicting the east coast.

Shocking footage has emerged of a McDonald's worker being sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher during a horrific drive-thru prank.

The woman was working at the Heidelberg store in Melbourne's north east when two cars drove through the drive-thru early at 2am on Saturday.

CCTV footage shows the 21-year-old lean forward out the window as she awaits for the car to roll up before a cloud of white dust explodes in her face.

She appears to be tossed backwards from the impact.

Her father, Steve Friend told Daily Mail Australia his daughter was lucky she was seriously injured from the prank.

'She could've been blinded,' he said.

'I don't believe using something like fire extinguisher for a prank is a prank. At some point assault isn't a prank. That was clearly assault.

'She was very lucky, stuff like that shouldn't happen.'

Ms Friend has been recovering from a sore throat since the incident.

A spokesman for McDonald's said: 'The safety of all of our crew is our number one priority, and we’re thankful this didn’t result in a more serious injury.

'This sort of behaviour is unacceptable and we are working with police to investigate.'
