Salim Mejaher was 'so confused' about his bail conditions that he 'accidentally phoned a witness' ahead of yet another court case Salim Mehajer (pictured), 32, found himself back behind bars on Monday for allegedly breaching one of the strict bail conditions granted following his release from Cooma Prison in May.

A fed-up Judge James Bennett had no interest in seeing the photo, telling Ms Burrows he'd made it clear to Mehajer that he was to be in court. Judge Bennett warned the matter would be stood down until 2pm today but if he did not show up a warrant would be issued for his arrest.

Mehajer drew Judge Bennett’s ire early on Thursday when his lawyer, Zali Burrows, told the court her client was not present because he was receiving medical attention. A fed-up Judge Bennett had no interest in seeing the photo, telling Ms Burrows he’d made it clear to Mehajer that he was to be in court.

His lawyer told Parramatta District Court today he was in Fairfield Hospital seeing a specialist after breaking his hand.

She offered to show a photograph of the cast on his right arm that he had sent her.

Outside court Solicitor Zali Burrows asked reporters not to call the former Auburn Deputy Mayor disgraced, rather “misguided”.

She said he would plead not guilty later.

Mehajer's co-accused, Rafi Noori, was present in court and pleaded not guilty to helping stage the crash involving Mehajer's Mercedes, which saw the former councillor taken to hospital just before he was due to appear in court over a taxi driver assault.
