Stake Hill shooting leaves one man dead and another charged by WA Police with murder An alleged gunman has been charged with murder after another man was shot dead at a property in Mandurah, south of Perth. WA Police said a 61-year-old man died after he was shot about 5:00pm yesterday at the semi-rural property in the suburb of Stake Hill. Six police cars and officers from the Tactical Response Group (TRG) were sent to the scene when the alarm was raised. The Brisbane ex-partner of a former American beauty queen who has been missing for almost a year is expected to face court charged with her murder.

Detectives charged the 43-year-old on Thursday after a week-long search of a Bracken Ridge home.

An excavator and cadaver dogs were used in the search for the Priscilla Brooten, a 46-year-old US citizen.

The keen gamer and Zumba dance teacher had not been seen since July last year.

She was reportedly in a relationship with the accused before she disappeared. He did not report her missing.

Friends and family finally raised the alarm, reporting Ms Brooten missing in December.

Forensic officers will remain searching at Denham Street, Bracken Ridge, as part of a seven-day crime scene warrant.
