Learner driver dead, teen pedestrian critical in southern Queensland
Both victims were 16 years old. The separate incidents occurred on the Gold Coast and north-west of Toowoomba.
A German woman will face court over a serious traffic crash involving two cars and a truck in north Queensland, which left a man dead and a woman critically injured.
The 53-year-old woman was the driver of one of the cars that collided with the truck on the Bruce Highway at Alligator Creek south of Townsville on June 10.
The driver of a silver sedan, a 62-year-old man, died at the scene, while his partner, a 66-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and remained in a serious condition in Townsville Hospital.
The woman was travelling with her partner and two adult children and all four were treated for minor injuries.
The truck driver was not injured.
The German woman faced court on Thursday, charged with one count of driving without due care and attention causing death; and driving without due care and attention causing grievous bodily harm.
She is due to face court again on Monday, while police investigations into the crash continue.
