Mr Goodwin's body was found in a shallow grave on a property at Tyabb, south of Melbourne.

He had been beaten to death by two of Ms Dalton's friends, including her ex-partner Brendan McDowall.

The court heard Dalton had accused Mr Goodwin of raping her and of mistreating another friend, Olivia McOrmond.

'I'm not satisfied you were raped'

Dalton was originally charged with murder, alongside McDowall and a third man, Shane Heiberg.

But after her co-accused were convicted of manslaughter, her charge was changed too.

She pleaded guilty to intentionally causing serious injury on May 30.

"You intentionally encouraged McDowall and Heiberg to seriously injure Mr Goodwin at a time and a place you knew he was vulnerable," Justice Beale said.

"I'm not satisfied you were raped."

The court heard Dalton was a single mother who had drug and alcohol issues.

She must serve a minimum term of 20 months in prison.

After time already served, she could be free next month.

A two-day plea hearing for her co-accused, McDowall and Heiberg, will be held tomorrow and Friday.
