A puppy 's parents are heartbroken after someone broke into their Tennessee home and kidnapped their beloved French Bulldog.

"I walked into the house and I could see straight away that the laundry door was open and I looked around and could quickly see the house had been ransacked and he was gone."

About $200 worth of cash and jewelry was also stolen, along with the pet's food from the fridge.

"They actually took all of the raw food in the fridge which was actually strangely comforting because at least we know he's going to eat something tonight or last night," she said.

"We're not going to stop, I can't stop, because if I stop I just won’t stop crying so I've just got to do something," she said.

Police are still determining how many people were involved in the robbery, but the forensics team found several fingerprints inside the home.
