Sonia Newby and Mark Merri are accused of being part of a drug syndicate together with Ms Newby's son Corrin.

The couple, from Townsville, Queensland, were about to head overseas on their honeymoon when they were arrested in a dramatic raid and accused of regularly supplying drugs to more than 40 customers.

Newby and Merrin were charged with a string of money and drug trafficking offences, the Sunshine Coast Daily reported.

Corin was charged similar offences but did not apply for bail.

He will face court again on November 14.

Newby and Merrin were charged for their part in the alleged drug-trafficking ring, which police believe started in March 2018.

The pair allegedly bought expensive designer bags, shoes, jewellery and perfume after receiving a profit from selling drugs.
