A woman has been injured following a heavy landing in a hot air balloon.

The woman was flying above Luskintyre Airfield, in the New South Wales Hunter Valley, just before 8am on Monday.

The balloon she was travelling in hit another balloon on the ground at speeds of 40km/h, Nine News reported.
