It is alleged one officer was stabbed five times in the leg and the other through his hand as they attempted to detain Mr Scales-Copeland at a Toronto service station.

Officer had confronted the man over reports of a road rage incident at about 1pm on Sunday.

Mr Scales-Copeland expressed his remorse at the alleged attack to the court, ABC News reported.

However Ms Bourne said he had failed to provide enough evidence to accept bail and instead it was refused.

'Oh God, please don't do that, I don't need that,' he said upon hearing his bail application was denied.

He is due to appear in court again on Tuesday.
