Police say Mr De Ieso, 33, was an innocent victim who was caught in the cross fire of an escalating war between the Hells Angels and the Finks bikie groups.

Detectives had already arrested five other men over the cold case, but Pryde had avoided their capture.

A month ago, they issued a public plea for information on his whereabouts, releasing a photo of him and his distinctive tattoos.

Kyle Pryde will spend Wednesday night behind bars in Brisbane, before an extradition hearing tomorrow.

He could arrive back in South Australia as early as Thursday night, before facing court on Friday.

Man arrested after violent sexual assault in Adelaide .
In the attack, which happened last Friday, an Adelaide woman was hit over the head with an unknown object and sexually assaulted, while she was on her morning walk at Munno Para.
